Vanilla Sponge Cake

This is a classic vanilla sponge cake made with simple ingredients like flour, sugar, eggs, oil/butter, and vanilla. It is soft, moist, and has a beautiful aroma of vanilla. You can serve it plain or decorate it with cream, fruits, or powdered sugar. Great for birthdays, parties, or daily snacks.

Instructions

    Prepare the pan & preheat the oven Preheat your oven to 175–180°C (350°F). Grease a 6–7 inch round cake pan and lightly dust with flour.

    Whip the eggs & sugar In a large bowl, add 4 eggs, sugar, and vanilla essence. Beat until the mixture becomes light, fluffy, and creamy.

    Add the wet ingredients Add oil (or melted butter) and milk. Mix gently.

    Add the dry ingredients In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Slowly add the dry mix to the wet mix. Fold gently — do not overmix.

    Pour & Bake Pour the batter into the pan. Tap the pan to release air bubbles. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

    Cool & Serve Let the cake cool completely on a rack. Serve as is or decorate with sugar, cream, or fruit.
